After about 11 years of paddling the affairs of his gospel music band, Omo Alade Mimo and The Divine Voices, Prince Wale Michael believes that hitting the shelves with the much anticipated debut effort will be the emergence of a new glory in his music career.
He is of the opinion that despite the stiff competition among gospel musicians in the country, Emergence of New Glory, which was officially launched in Lagos last month, will put him in the right perspective in the industry.
Since his sojourn into the music scene was through a divine revelation, Prince Michael said his new album is loaded with spiritual and inspirational messages that will lift the souls of its listeners.
“It is not like the everyday gospel songs where the musicians are just interested in making people dance without passing important messages out. And unlike some of my colleagues, I did not sing the praise of any human being in the album. Of course Emergence of New
Glory is a danceable album, but we did not compromise the fact that spreading the gospel of God is our priority,” Prince Michael hinted. He began the journey of his ministry on 5 June, 1999. The band was formerly named Holy Crown Child & Divine Voices, but later changed it to Omo Alademimo & The Asaph’s Voices.
And according to Prince Michael, “the journey of this ministry has been interesting and convenient with the power of the Holy Spirit which has been guiding me. Though not without some ups and downs. But perseverance, obedience, hard-work and God’s wisdom brought me this far,” adding that the band now has enough inspiring songs that can sustain its albums for the next 25 years.
Speaking further on the album, Emergence of New Glory, he noted that “I see myself as a new glory that God has shown the way to shine. On 27 May, 2008, I received a divine message from one of my Pastors that the time has come for me to record my debut. And it was shortly after this that I started the studio recording.”
Meanwhile, apart from working towards being a singer that will propagate the gospel of Christ all over the world, Prince Michael also noted that he will, through songs among other things, promote the African culture.
